4 valleys, 40 km - the unique Sellaronda
The "Sellaronda", the unique ski tour around the impressive Sella massif, will surely remain unforgettable. The Sellaronda connects the Ladin valleys Val Gardena, Val Badia with the Alta Badia ski area, (Arraba) Buchenstein with the village of Arabba and the Val di Fassa over four Dolomite mountain passes. The 40-kilometer route, 20 of which are on the slopes, can also be mastered by recreational skiers in one day. A skiing experience in a class of its own!
From your apartment you have the Saslong mountain directly in view. The downhill race and the men's Super-G in the Alpine Skiing World Cup have been held on this legendary ski slope for decades. The name comes from the Ladin name Saslonch for the Sassolungo, and this is exactly where the trail leads along: from the Ciampinoi cable car station to the destination at St. Christina. With a maximum gradient of 56.9%, it takes some experience and courage to set off in the footsteps of the world champions, that are rushing up to 100 kilometers per hour over the famous camel humps of Saslong .....
Skiing fun for kids and teenagers
The Snow and Fun Park Val Gardena at the Piz Sella guarantees with its snow tunnel, the boxes and kickers a lot of thrills for freestylers and snowboarders. Little skiers like to play in the Snowpark Furdenan, where various games, small obstacles and the "Big Airbag" provide fun in the snow. During their first turns, the kids are accompanied by the ski instructors of the ski and snowboard school St. Christina: children from the age of two are well looked after here.
Off the slopes
You do not have to be a skier to enjoy your winter holiday in St. Christina. Whether winter hiking to one of the cozy mountain huts, sledding or cross-country skiing: Val Gardena offers a variety of winter experiences. The cross-country ski center Monte Pana in St. Christina has perfectly groomed trails for beginners and experts, who lead gently through the Dolomite landscape. Numerous natural tobogganing runs invite you to ride on two runners, including the toboggan run from the mountain station of the lift Raschötz in St. Ulrich. And sometimes just the view of the snowy Dolomites and a tasty meal in one of the rustic alpine huts is enough to fully enjoy the wonderful Val Gardena.
